An abrasive blasting cabinet is a closed structure in which the abrasive blasting of the workpiece takes place. Cabinet allows avoiding any type of pollution like air & noise pollution. For different types of abrasive media, the cabinet may differ on chemical properties & behavior.
There are two primary ways that sandblast media is delivered by a sand blasting cabinet.
Suction grit blasting cabinet are typically slower at finishing a given part but more affordable than a pressure blasting cabinet. They will also be unlikely to produce a change in the surface of a product. pressure blasting cabinet, on the other hand, are more expensive to purchase initially but allow for higher production and allow for the removal of stubborn surface contaminants with greater ease (like powder coatings).
Cabinet provides a great closed environment for cleaning & removing the containments. It gives packed closure for the blasting in which the collection of dust particles & abrasive is very convenient. Sand / shot blasting cabinet consists of mainly 3-4 components blasting hopper, Pressure pot, workpiece manipulator, vision glass. In the cabinet, we have used a dust collector with a connection of fabric type reclaimer.
Blasting cabinet are made from a variety of steel gauges. Thicker gauge steel will withstand blasting use for longer periods of time without a problem. For greater longevity cabinets are typically made out of 14 gauge steel while to save on price cabinets will be made out of 16 gauge steel.
